Sully, one of our Student Placements

I came to the Hospice to learn about the psychological side of nursing.

On the Inpatient Unit, we support student nurses from a variety of universities. Sully just finished his placement as a student nurse at the Hospice and shared his experience:

“I came to the Hospice to learn about the psychological side of nursing. The best thing is that you have genuine time with the patient. It’s good to sit down with them – it makes it more personal.

Everyone here is so fantastic. I learned about communication in seminars and observed how staff showed compassion to patients and their families. It can be heart-breaking, but it’s a privilege being there for someone at the end of life.”
