6th June 2024 marked forty-five years since a group of determined volunteers launched The Hospice of St Francis, offering free care to people facing the end of life.
It was an ambitious project – a dream that became reality – because of the generosity and ingenuity of local people.
It’s fitting that our anniversary falls during Volunteers’ week – because without our volunteers the Hospice would not exist. Our volunteers give their hearts and minds to support our work, and we can’t thank them enough.
In forty-five years, we’ve cared for mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles. We’ve shared your laughter and your tears. And today, on our forty-fifth anniversary, we’re so proud to be part of your community and so grateful for your support.
