“My role as a physiotherapist within the Hospice is incredibly wide-ranging and hugely rewarding.
I treat patients in their own homes as well as on the Inpatient Unit and as outpatients. Treatments might include teaching balance and strength exercises, leading exercise classes, or advising on breathing and relaxation techniques. I’m also scar therapy trained and can help reduce pain and stiffness caused by scarring using specialist massage techniques.
I love getting to know my patients and working with them to achieve their goals. My interventions aim to improve patients’ quality of life and symptoms in a holistic way.
Seeing patients’ confidence and abilities improve after physiotherapy sessions is hugely motivating and rewarding. I love my job and my wonderful team which makes what I do even more enjoyable.”
