“I volunteer in the Hospice’s bookshop for an hour every week. It’s the only time outside of school that I meet people, and everyone has been really welcoming.
I’ve been restocking the shelves and going through donated books. I like reading fiction and true crime so this was my first choice of placement for my Bronze DofE.
I was only supposed to be volunteering at Chapter Two for three months, but it’s such a nice place to be, I think I’ll stay on for six months. It’s fun to be here, and I like doing work that benefits my neighbourhood.”
