Shop Volunteer

Hours: We are looking for committed volunteers to help in our shops.  Shop volunteers need to be fit and work to a rota; usually one morning or afternoon each week, but we can be flexible. We are particularly looking for volunteers in the following shops:

Amersham Owned- Various shifts are available throughout the week and also DofE after school

Bovingdon Owned- NEW SHOP OPENING IN APRIL! Various shifts available. Please get in touch to register your interest now!

Returned to Glory (Berkhamsted) - Monday mornings and Weekends (ideally willing and able to help move furniture)

Greenway Owned (Chesham) NEW SHOP OPENED! Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, DofE at weekends

Berkhamsted Owned -bric a brac sorter on Tuesdays morning or afternoon, clothes sorter and gift aid/welcome donors on a Thursday morning.

Online Hub – Ebay Lister – clothes, will need attention to detail and some designer wear knowledge would be very helpful. Photograph and research to identify clothing and spot any fakes! Inputting onto Ebay.Abbots Langley Owned - DofE Tuesday, Thursday, Friday after school

Marshalswick Owned (St Albans) - Sorters and Steamers for most days and also ad hoc volunteers for the front of house shop and backroom, some spaces for DofE 

Highfield Owned (Hemel Hempstead) - DofE Wednesday & Thursday after school

Kings Langley Owned - DofE Wednesday & Thursday after school

Chapter Two - DofE vacancy to start end of April

All our shops are in the heart of the community.  If you are looking for a fun role, to learn new skills and to work within a fantastic team then shops have the volunteer roles for you!

Tasks are incredibly varied but all require a commitment to the Hospice values.  The main roles with training given, are:

Till Operator - serving customers on the till, customer facing

Steamer - Steaming clothes ready for sale

Sorter - Sorting donations in preparation to sell

Stock Processor - Hanging, tagging clothes, washing bric-a-brac, filling shop shelves

Flexibility regarding roles are appreciated but you may be asked to mainly fulfil a specific role depending on shop need.  If you are interested in finding out more about these roles pop into one of the shops for a chat with the shop manager or complete our online application form.
