Whilst working for the Hospice of St Francis employees are entitled to a range of benefits:

  • Salary – Competitive salaries which take account of NHS & local salaries.

  • Pension – The Hospice of St Francis offers its employees either a non-contributory pension scheme, fully stakeholder compliant or the opportunity to join the NHS pension scheme if they are are existing members and meet the qualifying criteria. Bank staff can join the NEST pension if meeting the qualifying criteria.

  • Staff Discount at 'number twenty' - Employees are entitled to 15% discount at our award winning gift and home interiors shop in Lower Kings Road, Berkhamsted.

  • Life Assurance Cover – Those employees who are members of the pension schemes are also eligible for the life assurance scheme.

  • Health Cash Plan – Having healthy employees is important to us, therefore we provide access to a Private Medical/Healthcare Scheme through a preferred supplier at a reduced rate. This scheme includes check-ups, treatment and emergencies if you need it.

  • Annual Leave – Employees are entitled to a generous holiday allowance which increases with length of service.

  • Family Friendly Benefits - The Hospice is committed to supporting staff in achieving a sensible work-life balance. Additional to statutory rights entitlement to Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave and Parental Leave, a range of Family Friendly benefits are available which include;
