Training and Development

Training and Development

The Hospice of St Francis places considerable importance on education, training and development at all levels, and supports both in house and external opportunities. All staff and volunteers will be given the opportunity of training and development to enable them to fulfil their roles at The Hospice of St Francis, to meet the high standards that are expected and their personal development.

The Hospice is committed to providing its employees and volunteers with a thorough induction. During your induction period you will be informed about your role, the Hospice and any Health and Safety requirements of the job.

Further training and development is discussed more formally at annual reviews with employees, as well as informally throughout the year. Training sessions on a variety of subjects are arranged across the organisation, these may be face to face or carried out through e-learning.

  • Education Programmes – training courses, planned programmes or bespoke sessions

  • Workshops – teaching or presenting

  • Think Tanks – short updates on a variety of topics, staff and volunteer forums, ensuring all employees/volunteers are kept up to date with Hospice developments

Please refer to our Education programme for full details.
